Marimekko bags are sewn using the whole width of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary. Each item is unique.

Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints were earlier excluded from Marimekko collections. So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendition. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko's design identity.

Care Instructions

• Do not tumbler dry
• Dry in shade
• Make sure to first check the care label for exact instructions. Please avoid soaking the item when you’re washing it by hand.
• We recommend washing dark and strong-colored items either separately or with like colors in plenty of water. It’s expected that some dye may come off, especially in the first few washes. Please use gentle spin-drying.
• A stain doesn’t necessarily mean you have to machine wash your item. Often times a careful spot cleaning is enough.
